The Westland Cactus and Succulent Potting Mix 4L contains a carefully selected blend of essential nutrients, enriched with gravel and sand to ensure excellent drainage. How SERAMIS Works
SERAMIS are granules made from fired natural clay with a highly porous structure. When watered, the granules absorb water and nutrients, releasing them as the soil begins to dry out. This creates an ideal environment for root development.
Usage
Planting and Repotting
- Seedlings: Fill the pot or seed tray with the potting mix and level it. Place the seedlings into the holes, gently firm the soil, and add more mix if necessary. Water thoroughly.
- Cuttings: Plant rooted cuttings into individual pots, ensuring the delicate roots are handled carefully. For larger cuttings, fill the pot halfway with the mix, position the plant, and fill around the roots. Firm the soil gently and water well.
- Repotting: Transplant plants during their growing season. Water the plant and let the water drain, then carefully remove the plant from the pot using wrapped paper to protect your hands from spines. Place a layer of the potting mix in a new pot, position the plant, fill the rest of the pot with the mix, and firm it lightly. Avoid watering for a few days to prevent root rot.
Watering
- Avoid overwatering. Water less frequently in autumn and not at all in winter unless the plant shows signs of drying out. From late spring, water regularly according to weather conditions and plant variety.
Fertilizing
The ready-to-use Westland Cactus and Succulent Potting Mix provides all the nutrients plants need for the first 4-6 weeks. During the growing season, feed plants every two to three weeks with Westland Cactus and Succulent Feed.
Usage Tips
- Place cacti and succulents in a well-lit, airy room with temperatures above 5°C. Position plants on the south side to ensure maximum sunlight.
- This product is not suitable for ericaceous and other acid-loving plants.
Storage and Precautions
- Store in a dry, frost-free place away from herbicides and other garden chemicals.
- Seal the packaging tightly after partial use. Use in well-ventilated areas, avoiding inhalation of dust.
- Wear protective gloves during gardening activities. Wash hands after use.
