Substrates for hydroponics
Hydroponics is based on growing plants in aquaculture, without soil. It has been replaced with a mineral material that is chemically inert and has no effect on plant development, it only serves to strengthen the roots. Such a product is Euro Pebbles from Plagron - a high quality inert hydroponic substrate. The material is based on pure, salt-free clay that is fired in an open oven to produce its characteristic irregular granules. Euro Pebbles has a wide range of uses as the user can determine the nutritional value. This substrate is suitable for a variety of growing methods and is particularly suitable for recirculation systems. Euro Pebbles provides the highest yields in combination with Plagron Hydro A&B and Plagron additives. An alternative may be Plagron Hydro Cocos 60/40, i.e. a combination of Euro Pebbles and Cocos Premium. This mixture contains 60% clay pebbles and 40% coconut fiber. Suitable for growing in pots and recirculation systems. Clay pebbles have high water and oxygen capacity, while fully buffered coconut has a stable pH value.
